A Journey Across America: Unveiling the Climate Change Reality
We love doing projects that focus on sustainable initiatives. This project was not just about capturing stunning visuals but also about shedding light on the critical issue of climate change and the pressing need for solutions.
We spent almost two weeks hearing stories of climate problems and solutions in all of the corners of the USA. Starting with a scallop fisherman in Maine, then down to a senior center going solar in Miami, up to a grocery store that was flooded in rural Kentucky, then to the Pacific Northwest, and ending in the Southside of Chicago.
From the production side, our goal was to capture visuals representing the pressing need for climate solutions. The end video was being used for a National Conference in DC, so we wanted to bring cinematic style in interviews and b-roll.
We set the scene for each location, including wide shots, small scenery details, and signage, to paint a picture of the atmosphere throughout the journey. Then, we focused on the story side by bringing in people, interviews, actions, and details to highlight the problems (like a burnt-down house from a wildfire).
Climate change is not a distant threat but an imminent reality, and we love to use video not just to showcase the problems but also to highlight the initiatives throughout different parts of the country. It was a great trip, and the video was a success :)
